Job description
Position: TRANSPORT AND CUSTOMS MANAGER – LM02004 (1 Position)
Location: Nairobi
Contract: Permanent

Main Purpose
Reporting to Logistics Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring all activities related to the clearing and transportation of medical and non-medical goods in the Mission according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the optimal running of the Mission
Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for KO Transport and customs Tracking Tool.
• Responsible for KO vehicle Motor vehicle fleet.
• Focal person for Customs Authorities & other PGA(Partner goverment agencies)
• Responsible for all importation and exportation regimes
• Responsible for Transport and Customs Policies and protocols
• Responsible for reporting of Transport related activities in the LRS and anlysing of the same for planning and control.
• Accountable for customs Register59 Management and Reporting.
• Responsible for communication and planning of transport related activities for both inbound and outbound at DG outsourced LSP ( Logistics Service provider)
• Responsible for all AEO( Authorised Economic Operator) regulatory requirements are met and kept up to date
• In Collaboration with Supply Department , ensure all Transport and Customs SLA’s are well executed and tracked for review, renewal & Termination.
• Ensure the All PGA(Partner goverment Agencies) circulars and Memo’s on Transport and customs regulations are relayed to relevant departments /managers for review, consideration and implementation.
• Ensure customs entries are properly executed and filed for easy retrieval..
• Provide expert advise to APU and KO supported country programs on viable transport modes, including routing and security.
Requirements
Education |
Essential Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management/ Customs Administration or related field or its equivalent (Bachelors Degree in Supply chain or Logistics will be an Added advantage) |
Experience |
At least 2 years’ experience in similar position. |
Languages |
Fluent in English and Kiswahili essential |
Knowledge |
Essential computer literacy (word, excel, power point). Essential: Knowledge in of KENTRADE, & ICMS Desirable: proven understanding in EACMMA 2004,EACMR2010 & EAC Tariff code guidelines |
